Soak Up the Sun
Go to the beach with a friend or take a stroll outside for 20 minutes. Daily sun exposure will replenish your body of vitamin D, an important calcium regulator. A US study showed thatpeople with low vitamin D levels had a 85% increase risk of depression. It’s hard to stay gloomy in the sun.
Focus
Commit yourself to a project, big or small. Find something you’ve been putting off, like that scrapbook or learning a new language. Force yourself to focus on something else and you’ll be forced to lose your negativity in the process. You won’t have the time or the energy to sulk.
Express Yourself
Many artists are at their best when life isn’t. Take a cue from them and put your negative energies into something creative. Express yourself. It can be anything from writing to sculpting to even dancing. Not only is it much more rewarding than a tub of ice cream, but doing so will be incredibly therapeutic.
