In warm, humid weather, go lighter on makeup, but rather than compromising your appearance, look for products that will go the extra mile to keep from sliding off your face.

The basic rule to remember is that makeup disappears into dry surface, and slips right off oily ones. Here are 5 tips to help makeup stay on your face through sweltering heat.

1. Use a lighter moisturizer. Beware that if you use daytime moisturizer with built-in sunblock, higher the SPF number, oilier it is.

2. Use foundation that evens out your skin in featherweight. Try Awake's Hydro-touch Foundation Compact, Anna Sui Liquid Foundation 001, or Yves Saint Laurent Energie Teint (SPF 12).

* If you are already using a sunblock or a moisturizer with built-in sunblock, you do not need additional protection in foundation.

* Mixing a bit of loose powder with liquid moisturizer before applying can also help.

3. Use powder eyeshadows and/ or blush, and stay away from soft eye-lining and lip-lining pencils.
