Face Washing

A wrong cleanser can sabotage the skincare steps that follow, causing dermatological problems. We tried over 100 cleansers of leading brands with shocking results. Here is a list of products that actually remove dirt and makeup off your face.

Perfect Cleansers

1. Not all products under a brand name work with same strengths.

Be sure to pick the ones that take all the makeup residue off that's formulated suitably for your skin type.

2. "Gentle" products do not cleanse well. Cleansers made for sensitive skin has less cleansing agent, which can cause skin irritation. These gentle formulas assume that people with sensitive skin do not wear much makeup to be washed away because their skin reacts adversely to makeup.

3. Instructions do matter. If it says to use a washcloth, use it.

4. Eyeliner and lipliner are the hardest to come off. It is best to use separate eye makeup remover to remove those.

5. If you use cake or stick foundation, you need extra strength cleanser.

6. Cleansers formulated for dry skin may contain oils and leave a residue for skin protection that in turn can contribute to too much emollient build-up.

7. If you are a teenager, best cleansing solution may be a simple Neutrogena Original Formula Facial Cleansing Bar.
