South Korean eyewear innovator Gentle Monster and Italian luxury house Prada have joined forces for their first-ever eyewear collaboration, and Asia is getting it first—and possibly only. The limited-edition collection of three titanium-frame designs rolled out in Tokyo stores on July 3, with an online release following on July 7, before expanding sequentially to South Korea, Mainland China, and Hong Kong.
Each style features sharp lens contours, architectural fronts, and the Prada triangle logo placed sideways across sleek titanium temples—a subtle signature that distinguishes the line from Prada’s mainline eyewear while keeping the house’s identity unmistakable. The campaign stars Japanese actor and Prada global brand ambassador Kentaro Sakaguchi in a cinematic, book-themed film where five fictional forces—earth, water, fire, air, and love—dissolve the boundary between reality and imagination.
Celebratory pop-up installations at Gentle Monster Aoyama and Prada Aoyama in Tokyo invited fans to step inside a fully immersive branded world complete with monumental book sculptures and robotic figures.
