Just because Valentine’s Day is over doesn’t mean all the benefits of love and romance are over for the year. As the chocolates disappear, and you feel the disappointment of yet another year pass without that diamond necklace, you may want to keep these in mind before turning in your guy, just yet:
Kiss and Burn: Kissing burns 68 calories an hour.
Prescription Sex: People who have sex once or twice a week have 30% more infection-fighting antibodies in their saliva than those who don’t have sex regularly.
Sex and Longevity: Having sex at least twice a week can add up to three years to your life!
Love at First Sight: Nearly two-thirds of the US population believes in love at first sight, and over half of those believers reported experiencing this phenomenon. Additionally, 55% of those who experienced it married the person and 75% of those marriages lasted.
Cynicism and Love: According to a study done at SUNY, women who are more cynical rather than idealistic tend to be “better off” picking the “right” kinds of men. More often than not it seems they end up with more honest and committed long-term guys.
Love Strengthens: Romance boosts physical performance. In a study done with athletes, all kinds of romantic relationships—from steamy affairs to steady beaus gave them an extra push in strength and stamina.
Flipped: Men who are cuddled and kissed are three times happier than their affection-starved counterparts. Women, on the other hand are more positively affected by having good sex.
