5. Stay True. When it comes to covering up blemishes pick a thick, tacky concealer stick that matches your skin tone as closely as possible. This will prevent drawing attention to the blemish, while providing a lasting coverage. Apply it using your fingertip and blend out.

6. Start Center. When applying foundation, always start from the middle of your face, working outward. The nose and inner cheeks are usually the spots with the most uneven skin tone so starting from those areas will give you the most coverage where you need it. As you work your way to the outer edges of your face, the foundation with fade out naturally.

7. Dust it On. To set your foundation for a long day ahead, lightly dust your T-zone with translucent powder as this is the area where oils tend to emerge first.

8. Blend Thoroughly. Not blending enough or leaving “streaks” across your face is one of the most common foundation no-no’s. You can make sure that your foundation is blended in evenly by using a hand mirror to inspect (especially the jaw line and forehead). You’ll be surprised what you may discover that you otherwise would have missed standing across your bathroom mirror.
