3. Love Yourself

When you become used to going through the day in hyper-drive, months can pass without a single moment of rest or self-reflection. Sometimes you forget to thank yourself for all of the big and little things you do. Take a moment to stop and think about the things that make you valuable, loveable and beautiful. Don’t let the traffic and smog of life dim your inner light. Make a point to remind yourself of your worth every now and then so you can glow with confidence and prevent burnout. This may mean treating yourself to a massage or spa day, so do it!

4. Organize Expenses

Figure out where your cash is going every month. You may be surprised how much those lunch dates, that cappuccino, or that spontaneous shopping spree can add up by month’s end. If you want an easy way to track your spending, sign up for a free account on Mint.com. Once you link your online bank accounts to your Mint profile, you can view the trend of your spending habits and find out where you can cut back. Rule of thumb is to maintain at least two months of your income in savings.

5. Checkup

If you can’t remember the last time you’ve had your womanly check up, it’s been too long (pap smears are difficult to forget). Make sure you get the full treatment: weight, height, blood pressure, mammogram, thyroid, blood glucose and pap smear (between 21 to 65, it’s recommended to get a pap smear every three years).
Not only will these tests help to detect early signs of cervical or breast cancer, but perhaps more importantly eliminate any fears or questions you may have about these risks. Regular annual checkups are also starting to be recognized as preventative by insurance companies, meaning lower medical costs in the future.
